The lost slides archive - 1972-2010 - Rainer Strzolka

The lost slide archive – From 1972 to 2010 – Contributions to cultural memory
The images published here come from the author's lost archive, which was surprisingly rediscovered after many years. They are being published out of a sense of cultural responsibility and personal passion. Much of what can be seen here no longer exists or has changed significantly.
Publishing such an archive is always a race against time before the physical originals decay, even though slides have a considerably longer lifespan than digital files – at some point, they will no longer be there.
The archive thus also serves to historically document an entire lifetime. Only a selection of the photographs shown here are presented. Images that are too private will therefore not be shown.
The photographer knows from experience that lost archives fascinate many people. The appeal of the unknown plays a role here; after all, this archive shows the only existing insights into the photographer's private life. It therefore also serves to bury strange myths.  In addition, it contributes to cultural memory.
As is customary in our publications, no commentary is provided. The images should be able to stand on their own merits.
I hope you enjoy viewing them.
All images shown here will be published in bookstores to preserve them outside the fast-paced digital world.
